Ken practices estate planning and estate administration law in Colorado and Arizona. He has an AV Preeminent rating of 5.0 out of 5.0 by Martindale Hubbell.
His experience includes working with individuals and business owners to provide personal attention to their specific needs and objectives, with a view towards producing a comprehensive estate plan which is understood by the client and prepared in a timely manner. Services available include Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Charitable Planning.
Ken began his career serving in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corp from 1965 through 1969. From 1970 through 1994 he was a principal in the Colorado Springs firm of Hecox, Tolley, Keene & Beltz. From 1995 until late 2003, Ken was a partner in the Colorado Springs branch office of the Denver law firm of Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons. From from 2003 to 2018 Ken was a partner with Keene and Sparks in Colorado Springs.
Education
Ken attended Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) from 1958 through 1961, and graduated with a B.S. from the University of Nebraska in 1962. He holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Law Review.
Professional and Civic Activities
Ken is a member and past chairman of the Probate Section of the El Paso County Bar Association and the Colorado Springs Estate Planning Council. He has served as Chairman and Board Member of Silver Key Senior Services, the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region Metropolitan Board and Foundation Board, the Penrose/St. Francis Health Foundation, the CHI Mountain Foundation and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoological Society.
He is the recipient of the Y and Penrose / St Francis Foundation highest community volunteer awards, as well as the annual Partners in Philanthropy Outstanding Fundraising Campaign Volunteer Award.
